Who we are
We are teachers, first, foremost and always. Some of us are still at the chalkface, marking books late into the evening. Some have retired but never quite left the profession behind. Others now work across the wider world of education, in leadership, research, training and support, carrying the classroom with them wherever they go.
What holds us together isn’t a job title. It’s a shared conviction that education, in its widest sense, matters and that the people who give their working lives to it deserve a platform as thoughtful and as capable as they are.
We bring different backgrounds, different specialisms and different perspectives to Education Matters. What we share is a commitment to education and the people who provide it at all levels in all sectors, to preparation over performance, to substance over sensation and to the belief that teachers, everywhere, deserve to be heard, understood and respected.
